LIIscience.org exists to foster communications about the physics and chemistry of laser-induced incandescence (LII) of nanoparticles. The focus is on aspects of making this powerful diagnostic quantitative. These aspects include modeling of the nanoscale heat and mass transfer processes, experimental design, signal evaluation, and interlaboratory comparisons. Unless otherwise specified, the nanoparticle under investigation with LII is combustion-generated soot. Although applications are referred to occasionally, and may be discussed in the forums, there are many other outlets better suited for communications on the applications of LII.
