By train

There are two main national railway stations in the centre of Glasgow: Glasgow Central and Glasgow Queen Street.

There are direct trains from Glasgow Central to London Euston with a journey time of around 4 hours 30 minutes (Avanti West Coast). London Euston about a 10 minute walk from St Pancras International.

Trains also run from Glasgow Central to London King’s Cross via Edinburgh (LNER) and to Manchester (Trans-Pennine Express).

Queen Street station serves the east and north of Scotland, with a service to Edinburgh every fifteen minutes.

From Central Railway Station the workshop venue is about a 15 minute walk (or around £7 in a taxi). From Queen Street Railway Station it is a 7 minute walk.

By car

From the south (M74/M73) or the north (M80), join the M8 westbound (Glasgow). Leave it at junction 15, signposted Cathedral, go straight ahead on Stirling Road to the T–junction, and turn right into Cathedral Street. Then turn left into Montrose Street where there is a car park on the left.

From the west, take the M8 eastbound (Glasgow) and exit at junction 15, signposted Cathedral. Turn right onto Castle Street, and right again onto Cathedral Street. Then turn left into Montrose Street where there is a car park on the left.

Car parking

Because of our city centre location, there is no reserved parking on campus. The private National Car Park (NCP) in Montrose Street (G1 1RS) is closest to the campus.

By air

You may fly to either Glasgow Airport or Edinburgh Airport, which are connected to Glasgow city centre by public transport as follows.

Glasgow airport

First 500 Glasgow Shuttle bus departs from Stance 1 at the airport approximately every 10 minutes for Buchanan Street Bus Station in Glasgow city centre with a journey time of about 20 minutes. The bus station is about a 12 minute walk from the workshop venue. If you wish, you may leave the bus one stop earlier at North Hanover Street for a slightly shorter walk.

Edinburgh airport

Citylink offers a coach service from Edinburgh airport to Glasgow city centre (Buchanan Bus Station) with a journey time of about 55 minutes. Find out more on Citylink's website.
